Tuesday Trip!

Meow & Ciao 8,610 people who visit my Blog!
Today we wrote about what we did on Tuesday, you can read my writing to find out what it's about!

When we got to the main room, we were all excited. We saw some native birds through the window. We saw some Weka, Torea, Tuis & some Skinks in an enclosure. Rotoroa was beautiful alright They taught us about some traps & smells to attract pests or to identify them. We later got to pass around different animal skins that come from animals that endanger native animals or birds. Some were rough, & some were soft. Some people were grossed out but I was especially sad. There was a cat skin… but at least it was a domestic cat, not a pet cat.

After that, we split into our groups. Group A & B Scott class, & Group A & B Killeen Class. We went on a fun journey around the entire island while Killeen class stayed & did a GPS activity. We learned about a couple of plants, saw a pair of takahe, looked over the entire island from a hill, & much much more. Sadly, no Kiwi. After all, they are nocturnal.

A couple of hours later, we all went to a beach there called ladies bay & had our lunch. Mmmmm, scrummy! My chicken & avocado sandwich was the best! Soon after we went to do our GPS activity. First, we had to locate a piece of paper with our group, it had a pest or native footprint on it. Then return to the main room & try to identify the insect or animal on a tablet PDF. Soon after, we had to use the GPS to find a stuffed bird with a few tracking bands on it. When we reach the location, we use binoculars to spot the bird in the area. We then write down on a clipboard the colors of the bands, & return to the main room.

We then went to a cool museum sort of place & there were some cool recordings by some people that were talking about something (I actually didn’t know) & they were cool. There was also a 3D MAP on a table & a cool illusion in-graved into the floor. After, we put our stuff & got ready to go. We had a couple of pictures taken, then we had a drink. By that time, it was time to go home...

WALT write super sentences.

There are 7 different ways to write super sentences!
  1. Add in words
  2. Drop in chunks of information
  3. Add on at the end
  4. Add on at the beginning
  5. Change words

  1. The handsome boy sped down to the littered river.
  2. The really smart boy ran as fast as a cheetah down to the river to save the cat.
  3. The boy ran down the river to save the cat.
  4. The really smart boy dashed down the river bank, down to the river.
  5. The child rushed over to the stream.
  6. The boy sneakily ran down the river like a spy.

Describe a moment in time, Love your Coast trip to the beach Clean up

As time goes on, and We are picking up rubbish, I look around in the hot weather & I see the intense gleaming & shininess of the broken glass & water in the distance. I hear the faint crashing of the waves over the sea wall as if it’s talking. It’s so hot, I think it is similar to Samoan weather in the dry season, & that when I open my mouth I reckon I can taste the evaporating water. When I step on the sand, whilst It is all soft It feels like burning coals! But while all these things are going on I'm in deep thought ‘Do people really care about the ocean?’ While I stare at all the rubbish in the bags. Lighters, glass, plastic, rusted iron…

In Scott class we went to onehunga beach to pick up rubbish so that rubbish does not end up in our seafood dinner. & also to keep the population of fish up.

My Word Cloud about the Planet Mars and writing

Introduction
There is a planet out there in space called mars it is named after a roman god of war. Mars is  since it is the 4th closest to the sun. Have you ever wondered if people could live on mars or what mars has that has been discovered?

Appearance
Mars is called or nicknamed “The Red Planet” because of it’s distinctive reddish orange colour. If you are wondering, “Why does Mars have different shades of red?” then the reason is that meteoroids and asteroids crash into Mars and create craters so the surface is uneven  and creates shadows which makes the shades you can see from a distance. Also Mars has the most tallest mountain in our solar system, it is called “Olympus mons”. So Mars is sometimes called the red planet instead of Mars.

Could Humans live on Mars?
If you are wondering if you could live on mars we’ll the answer is no. One of the reasons is that mars has a thin atmosphere, which means that there is not have enough oxygen for humans to breathe. Also, Mars has no magnetic field, which leads to lots of sun light shining onto the planet’s surface, which increases the chances of getting skin cancer. Furthermore, there are dust storms that last for months and months. You won’t want to be caught in one of those, you would have to clean, and clean, and clean, it wouldn't be very nice. Since these dust storms destroy everything in its path you will get destroyed too. Therefore, humans can not live on Mars due to these problems.

Conclusion
The last paragrapgh “could humans live on mars” it says you can’t live there, so they used a robot called the “Mars Rover” that is how they study mars, for more information you should check out the following link:http://space-facts.com/mars/ File:Mars rover msrds
